 From the Church Office (November 2008)
Dear WCBC Church Family,
This is my favorite time of year. The temperature finally cools down, and it begins to feel like fall. Trees and other vegetation change to a beautiful fall colors. I really find this time of year refreshing after a long hot summer.
November is the month that we focus on Thanksgiving. Being thankful is a fundamental Christian attitude that we need to maintain all year long and spread to others. The Bible encourages us to give thanks.
“Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 NIV
“And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.” Colossians 3:17 NIV
I am excited that Dave Stetson is coming to be our new Minister of Music on the 23rd. Dave and his wife, Karen, are going to be a wonderful addition to our church family and staff. Let’s give them a warm Walnut Creek welcome. Now is a great time for new people to join the choir and others to get involved again.
I am also excited about our new Deacons: Leon Aylesworth, Mark Baker and Randy Bledsoe. The Deacon Ordination Service will be held on Sunday night, November 23rd.
Continue to pray for and support our children’s and youth ministries. The success and effectiveness of these ministries is critical to future generations. We need to see more children, youth and young adults come to know Jesus Christ and participate in our church.
I hope you will join the Walnut Creek family and I as we thank God for His many blessings this month.
